Ora et Decora

Hello, Fellow Soul!

Summer 2024

Hi! My name is Saskia: I am a soul, a proud mother of three young adult humans and 2 cats.

I am passionate about art, photography, design, poetry, music, mysticism, symbolism, sacred geometry, ancient civilizations, grounded, no bypass-spirituality, honesty, intuition, personal expression, healing, consciousness, Mother Earth, Original Source, The Cosmos and beyond.

I love family, friends, music, dance, singing, reading, colors, patterns, thrift stores, humor, interesting conversations, quiet time, dreaming and laughing.

I love animals, trees, crystals, rocks, skies, clouds, dragons, owls, seagulls and especially the sun and sea.

I deeply care about social justice, equality, individuality, sovereignty and community.

I do not consent to any form of negative intent, harm, manipulation or control.

I am not interested in rigid thinking, or belief systems.

I much prefer Mystery.

MYSTERIES, YES

(by Mary Oliver)

“Truly, we live with mysteries too marvelous
to be understood.

How grass can be nourishing in the
mouths of the lambs.
How rivers and stones are forever
in allegiance with gravity
while we ourselves dream of rising.
How two hands touch and the bonds
will never be broken.
How people come, from delight or the
scars of damage,
to the comfort of a poem.

Let me keep my distance, always, from those
who think they have the answers.

Let me keep company always with those who say
“Look!” and laugh in astonishment,
and bow their heads.”

I love creating open- ended environments for individual interpretation and experience; often centered around contemplation, meditation, reflection, connection, interaction and response; for people of all ages and abilities. This usually evolves organically and in the moment; though sometimes with a certain existing theme or concept in mind.

I draw inspiration from different sources- including Gaia: The Original Sanctuary.

I also love to take photographs wherever I am.

Ora et Decora means: “Pray and Decorate” (or enhance, embellish, make beautiful) – simply my play on the Medieval Latin motto found in Christian Mysticism and the monastic life: “Ora et Labora,” meaning: “Pray and Work” (or Pray and Labor.)

Street Art by Unknown Artists, 2025

Oh: and while I believe the whole system needs a complete change; I will protest against Authoritarianism, Fascism, global human trafficking, the prevention of complete disclosure and other crimes against humanity.

And hopefully make people smile while doing it 🙂
